MAYOR BYRON BROWN FILES OVER 18,000 DEMOCRATIC SIGNATURES
Mayor will also file petitions for Conservative, Working Families and Independence Parties
Buffalo - Mayor Byron Brown today filed 18,425 Democratic signatures for re-election at the Erie County Board of Elections. To qualify for the Democratic Primary candidates must file 2,000 valid signatures, Mayor Brown filed more than 9 times the amount needed to qualify. Mayor Brown will also file petitions to qualify on the Conservative, Working Families and Independence Party lines.
“My campaign volunteers did an amazing job knocking on doors getting signatures for my re-election as Mayor during the past five weeks and I am grateful for their efforts. I am also encouraged by the strong support in each and every section of the city and the confidence so many Democratic voters have in my candidacy and the progress we have made together in Buffalo,” said Mayor Brown.
Mayor Brown was recently endorsed by the Erie County Democratic Committee and appeared on the Democratic petition with Buffalo City Court Judges Debra Givens and Kevin Keane. The Democratic Primary will be held on Tuesday, September 10th. Mayor Brown is the endorsed Democratic, Conservative, Working Families and Independence Party candidate.
Mayor Brown has also been endorsed for re-election by the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors, Buffalo Building Trades Council, Congressman Brian Higgins, State Senator Tim Kennedy, Assemblymember Crystal Peoples-Stokes, Assemblyman Mickey Kearns, Assemblyman Sean Ryan, Buffalo City Council President Richard Fontana, Buffalo City Council Majority Leader Demone Smith, Buffalo City Council President Pro-Tem Bonnie Russell, City Council Members Joe Golombek, Darius Pridgen, David Rivera, Christopher Scanlon and several prominent members of the clergy.
